Kristen - My Blog

Hi,
My name is Kristen is this is my first blog ever and I hope it not to be the last.
I am a second year Pre-Vet student and just recently got accepted to go volunteer in Costa Rica. This is a once in a life time experience and I am very excited to go! The project I will be working with is the conservation of sea turtles and bottle nose dolphins. Its an extrordinary experience and I can't wait until July to begin my first volunteer project. However, it turns out to be more money than I was expecting. So tonight I begin my adventure of fundraising. I have never done fundraising before, this project is filled with a lot of firsts. I figured my first step in fundraising is to write a letter that I can send out to organizations or companies asking for donations. Now that that step is completed I am lost. Does anyone have ideas on who I can seak out for donations, whether it is money or backpacking supplies?!?! I would very much appreciate it if someone could help me out or give me pointers. This task has turned out more difficult than I have imagined but I am d1etermined. Nothing will stop me from going on this volunteer trip.
Thank you for reading my very first post to a blog. I will be back again updating my adventure of fundraising, hopefully with some successful news.
